...Clay Aiken. Period, end of story.

I was waiting to see if OLY might consider raising the limit on the prop before posting this, but it doesn't look like it.

My usual thing is the fight game, but I've had some VERY good luck playing non-BO gross movie/TV props in the past year.

I'm on Aiken at +105 for the following reasons:

#1. I don't want to get into racist rationale, but the fact is, Aiken best resembles Middle America. There was some controversy last year over an African-American contestant being ousted before her time, and rumblings that pro-whites were "stuffing" the phone ballots. Now, this is obviously a disgusting component of the contest, but facts are facts. I don't have to agree with it, but I had better recognize it.

#2: Ruben was in the bottom two a few weeks back. IMO, this could have been a stunt to rejuvenate interest in the show, since many believed that he had things sealed. More likely, Ruben was the victim of "everyone else is voting for him" syndrome. Kind of like recycling...everyone does it, so don't bother.

Even so, Clay has yet to find himself in that position after things were narrowed down to the final 12.

#3: The man has talent. Goofier than heck to look at, but obviously, this won't be decided on looks.

#4: Simon Cowell picks Clay, "by a hair." Hey, isn't that how many wagers are won?

But most importantly...

Clay Aiken's CD single is currently #1 on Amazon's list. Ruben's? #386. The AOL poll is interesting, but this fact represents people actually plunking down the cash.

Gambling is gambling, but unless Clay really chokes tonight, it's his to lose. Took the max limit of $500 to win $525. G/l to all.

I'm with you, man, because, the fact is that, in terms of PURE TALENT, this really shouldn't even be all that close. I took Clay at +250 with WWTS about three weeks ago. I like the value in that play right about now. I think it's his to lose. We'll see.

Clay is now up to -145 after the show tonight, with Ruben dogging it. Ruben fans are getting a gift here.

I'm glad I got in at +105...+250 is terrific. I had feelings early on, but getting through a field of twelve is tough and I decided to wait it out. G/l to us.

Damn, Ruben did dog it at the end. Why is it that everyone I bet on ends up choking?! Good luck guys. It will be close because it sounds like the phone lines will only take so many calls, but Clay is going to take it all the way. He kicked Ruben's ass on the last song.

I wondered what the hell happened to that line, I didn't get a chance to watch.

Man, I got Clay at -111 and my friend got him on sunday at +100. Now he is at -140 at interops. What a way for the line to move around like crazy....apparently everyone and their mother has been betting on Clay as of late to fluctuate the line that much. Anyway, don't watch the show, but I hope that Clay pulls through...

Sorry, guys...looks like it was incredibly close, if FOX is to be believed. I'll still take a +105 line on a 50/50 race any day of the week...
